Each year, BCRF holds two signature events during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October: Scientific Retreat and the Annual Symposium & Awards Luncheon.
The Scientific Retreat is held the day prior to BCRF's Annual Luncheon and Symposium in New York and is hosted at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Since inception in 2002, this special event has been generously underwritten by BCRF Advisory Board member, Muriel Siebert.
The Retreat is an opportunity for the Foundation to act as convenor in bringing eminent scientists together (all of whom are funded by BCRF) to share discoveries, compare data and explore opportunities for collabroation.
The day after the Conference, BCRF's Annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon blends serious discussion at our morning medical Symposium with an entertaining Luncheon at which guests learn the lastest news about BCRF's growth and activities. The highlight is the presentation of grant awards for the coming year to our researchers, who gather on stage for the final accolades in one of the most moving and inspiring moments.
