Q. Tell us a little about Play For P.I.N.K.

In the early 1990s a group of women decided to do something meaningful for a friend undergoing treatments for breast cancer, and all women afflicted with the disease. Players of the game of golf, they initiated a golf tournament at their club in New Jersey to raise money and awareness. That very successful event was the foundation from which Play for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate diagnosis, New technology, Knowledge) was built upon.

Since 1996 Play for P.I.N.K. has donated over $12.75 million dollars, and hosts over 141 events, with over 20,000 participants, nation wide. We are still committed to contribute 100% of all funds raised to our partner, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Q. What is Play For P.I.N.K.'s purpose in organizing breast cancer-related tournaments and programs?

A. Play for P.I.N.K. is dedicated to raising funds to fight breast cancer and creating and promoting awareness through many different sporting and lifestyle events. We've expanded our concept to include: golf, tennis, paddle ball, card games, swimming, men's tournaments, equestrian events including dressage and polo, spa days and wine tastings for Young Professionals.

Q. Why are Play For P.I.N.K.'s pink products a good match for breast cancer?

A. Play for P.I.N.K. is always looking for unique ways in which to raise even more money to donate to their partner. The women, men and children who participate and attend our events are enthusiastic about buying merchandise to support breast cancer research. Many of the pink products manufactured by the partners of BCRF are perfect for us to sell. We're happy to sell the products, the partner is happy to have the items bought, and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is delighted that their partners are working together to raise money to find a cure.

Q. What are Play For P.I.N.K.'s goals for their support of BCRF?

A. Play for P.I.N.K. is a great success story. Our first contribution to BCRF was $77,000. Every year we have expanded in size and increased our contribution. Our goal for this year is that once again we will be able to surpass the donation of last year, $2,750,000.

Q. Why is breast cancer research important to Play For P.I.N.K.?

A. Play for P.I.N.K. has always believed that the best way to prevent breast cancer and find a cure is through research. Our large PINK "family" takes great pride knowing that we support seven research projects at the finest institutions across the country.

Q. Why did Play For P.I.N.K. choose The Breast Cancer Research Foundation rather than another breast cancer charity?

A. Play for P.I.N.K. is proud to be a partner of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the past 10 years. Their rating of four stars by Charity Navigator, and the "A" rating of The American Institute of Philanthropy confirms that we entrust our hard earned money to an organization that is as fiscally responsible and is as hard working as we are. We love that our contribution funds innovative clinical and genetic research world wide. We take pride in their accomplishments.
