Mayo Clinic Women's Cancers 2006 Weekend Workshop
On October 21, 2006, in Rochester, Minnesota, Anastacia, was the Keynote Presenter at the Mayo Clinic Women's Cancers 2006 Weekend Workshop, Merging Science and Care.
This annual education event focuses on current topics in cancer care, promising research and ways to dealing with cancer and its effects.
Anastacia spoke about her diagnosis and the difficult months that followed - when she cried, laughed, fought, sang and wrote with a passion. She told of the way she has channeled her energies into raising funds for research and awareness specifically focused on younger women with breast cancer, by establishing the Anastacia Fund at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Her message of purpose and survival, her no-nonsense delivery and her genuine concern for all those affected brought a well-deserved standing ovation from the more than 340 audience members.
