The inspirational story behind this event began in 2003 when Melissa Balkowitsch was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery and years of treatment, but in November 2006 the cancer had metastasized, and Missy continues to valiantly fight cancer today.
This golf tournament was held to help others with their battle with breast cancer and to let them know that they are not alone.
